Feedback at Lode Heath School
Feedback at Lode Heath School
Students receive regular and timely teacher feedback on their learning in all lessons; this takes the form of a written comment; a pre-populated template which is highlighted on a green coloured handout or verbal using a verbal feedback stamp.
The feedback is structured using WOW – HOW – NOW.
HOW? How can students make progress?
-
Provides an opportunity to signpost to the students the specific area of content or skill(s) they need to improve upon in order to make progress
-
Again, this is subject specific and it may be written or highlighted from criteria etc… just like the WOW part of feedback
-
It may require some more teaching (reteach) before the ‘NOW’ can happen such as a step-by-step process or a model answer etc…
WOW! What did students do well?
-
Provides an opportunity to feedback to students on the key elements that they have been successful in, across several lessons or for one particular piece of work
-
This is subject specific and should link to learning objectives
-
It may be written or highlighted from criteria etc…
NOW… A CTG (Closing the Gap) Task to apply the feedback that students have received to make progress.
This could be in the form of:
-
A specific task for an individual student
-
	Redrafting work
-
	Adding to and amending work
-
Differentiated tasks using a Bronze / Silver / Gold principle and highlighting which task needs to be completed if using a pre-populated template
