Lode Heath School and Sports College School Uniform


The school adheres strongly to the belief that school uniform is a factor in establishing a controlled atmosphere in which pupils
can work efficiently. It is hoped that parents will co-operate in ensuring that their children wear correct uniform at all times.
The list is as follows:

BOYS
White shirt
Black blazer
Black trousers. These should be worsted not cotton, corduroy or checked.

School tie (Black and gold stripe) and blazer badge
Navy blue or black raincoat or anorak
Black shoes. It is requested that the soles and heels are both safe and quiet.

The following items are NOT part of school uniform and parental support in ensuring that pupils do not wear them would be
appreciated :
Cotton 'jean' type or corduroy trousers, patterned trousers, sweatshirts, embroidered/patterned shirts, trainers,
boots or brown shoes, patterned/multicoloured socks, and looped earrings.
Black trainer style footwear, whether marketed as shoes or not.
No artificial hair colouring or extremes of style (e.g. NO number 1 or 0 cuts, 'tramlines', 'undercuts' or sculpted styles).
Eyebrow/nose studs or any other form of visible body piercing are not permitted.
Outdoor coats should be suitable for wet weather.

PUPILS SHOULD NOT WEAR BASEBALL CAPS WHILST IN UNIFORM AND THEY SHOULD NOT BE BROUGHT INTO SCHOOL.

GIRLS
Black blazer
Plain black loosely fitting knee length school skirt with or without pleats, with a level hemline. These should not contain
splits or be made of lycra or similar material.

Plain black school trousers, which can be straight legged, slight flare or bootleg. These should not be tightly fitting fashion
styles which either hang from the hips and/or are adorned with chains, zips and embroidered images.

Plain white shirt
School tie (Black and gold stripe) and blazer badge
Navy blue or black raincoat or navy coat/anorak
Black or white ankle or knee length socks - beige/black tights
Sensible black shoes - not high heeled, platforms or backless 'mule' style. It is requested that the soles and heels are
both safe and quiet.
Boots may not be worn on the premises and in the event of inclement weather, pupils must bring shoes to change into at school.
Black 'V' neck cardigan (not zip up) or 'V' neck school jumper (not tightly fitting fashion jumpers)
School scarf (optional)
The school blazer is obligatory for all girls.
The wearing of make-up and nail varnish is not permitted.
Jewellery may not be worn apart from one pair of simple gold studs for pierced ears (one in each ear) and a watch.
Rings are not permitted.
Eyebrow/nose studs or any other form of visible body piercing are not permitted.
No unnatural hair colouring or extreme hairstyles.

The following items are NOT part of school uniform and parental support in ensuring that pupils do not wear them is appreciated:

Skirts that are too short or too tight
Skirts that are not black
Skirts that are not knee length
Skirts that button/fasten up the full length of the front or back
Skirts that have uneven hemlines as part of the style
Skirts that are too long, i.e. below the calf
Sweatshirts may not be worn outside of games lessons
Tights or socks and not both should be worn
'Slouch' socks which fall around the ankles, trainer socks, or over the knee socks must not be worn
Trousers that are too tight and do not hang from the waist
Trousers that are adorned with chains, buckles and any other form of decoration
Hooded tops should not be with uniform
PUPILS SHOULD NOT WEAR BASEBALL CAPS WHILST IN UNIFORM AND SHOULD NOT BE BROUGHT IN SCHOOL
BACKLESS OR MULE STYLE SHOES
