County And Controlled Schools Summary of the Authority's Admissions Policy 1
If a school receives more applications than there are places available, places will be allocated in the following priority order:
1. Applications on Exceptional Grounds
2a. Children who are normally resident in a catchment area of a school. (*see note below)
2b. Children who have been unsuccessful at obtaining a catchment area place at priority 1.
3. Applications on social grounds or on grounds of having an older brother or sister at the school at the same time
4. All other applications allocated on the actual distance measured in a straight line from the child's home to school
A waiting list will be operated for the normal admissions year group during the period from April to September when offers are
being made and accepted or declined.
* Please note - in the event that a school is over-subscribed from within the catchment area the over-subscription criteria will be
applied to the catchment area children using the following priorities:
· Applications on social grounds or on grounds of having an older brother or sister at the school at the same time.
· Applications from children attending one of the school's linked primary schools.
· All other applications allocated on the actual distance measured in a straight line from the child's home to school

Admissions to Lode Heath School September 2006- 205 pupils
At the end of July 2006 there were 61 children still on the waiting list. Appeals may be made to the Solihull MBC for unsuccessful application.
